It really will be good to show Bella before she met James. After all, in a fanfic you more or less build the characters on the original book characters and the readers already know the basics about them. In an original fiction you'll have to build the characters from scratch and showing a young Bella will help with that, I think.
There are two more chapters left, will we see how James is tortur... I mean, handled by Carlisle and Aro? :)

I loved that Bella took charge and fought back. Jacob should hand James over to Carlisle. If he went to trial there's always a possibility he could get away with it. He deserves whatever punishment Carlisle and Aro have in mind.
And wow...only two more chapters. I'm sad to see this end, but its an amazing story. Thanks for sharing.

Good chapter. I was kinda surprised by Bella's being so calm locked in the trunk, but I guess she just KNEW that she had to be strong for Victoria. (Once I was traveling with a friend who was sorta high strung and excitable. We had a flat, and I tried to be especially calm since I did not want to upset her. Once I had unloaded the truck to get to the spare tire, I had no idea what to do next, but someone stopped just then to help us! I guess Bella was doing the same calming thing for V.)
James to Aro -- that sounds good! Will give some insight into Aro.

My favorite part? Bella realizing she is strong, powerful and able to take care of herself. The way she looked back at James and didn't back down, doubt or hesitate, it is what she needed; even if not even her knew it until it happened. Also how she took care of Victoria, hiding her, keeping her safe. Bella has an amazing heart.
Part of this is over, not all. There's still the handling of James, and all the mess he has made, including Laurent. Of course Jacob would have a hard time agreeing to what Carlisle was asking for; to him James needs to face the law. Sadly there might be ways for him to wave out of the system and go back to hurting women, Bella and Victoria included. Is it the "best" idea to let the community handle him? Tough to say, but very understandable. And as Carlisle said, he needs to make it right by Bella.
Hope to see the next chapter soon :(, even if it means the end is closer.

Great ending for James! Instead of showing Bella before she met James, I would like to see more of how James changed Bella during the relationship prior to dropping her off at the school. It is very easy for someone to manipulate and control someone else by various forms of abuse whether it be physical, verbal or emotional. I think showing that aspect of the story, although we see it in Victoria, would maybe shed the light to so many people that may not even realize it is happening to them. Given Victoria's own past, it is easy to see how quickly he got to her, but Bella is a whole other story. I think for the most part we all feel Bella is a strong character in general so I can't see it being so easy for James to change her. It must have taken a while to break down Bella and cut her off from her family and friends.

I hope we get to see what happens with James in Aro's care, what happened with the other women Laurent did this to, some punishment for Heidi (she was just as much an accomplice as Laurent and being terrorised by James wasn't enough) and some healing and future care for Victoria and her baby. Perhaps James' death could be faked and all his money goes to Victoria with the aid of some forged documents or maybe a trust for the baby.
Any sequesl would have to deal with Bella's trauma and how she eventually works submission back into her life. Edward is certainly a kind master, so it could be interesting to see how that could aid her psychological recovery.

This is by far one of the best stories out there in fanfic land! I have been enjoying following this saga for quite some time, and though I lost you for a few chapters in transition to this website, I've read each new chapter as soon as it came out! You somehow manage to be realistic in the head of the sick piece of work that is James, while at the same time, you draw one of the most caring and kind Edwards around. You do this beautifully, especially when Edward is in full Dom mode, which I believe is what makes this story especially hot!
