Charlie was married to Renee. She told him that she was pregnant with his child, when in reality it was Aro's. Charlie found out when Bella broke her leg and needed a blood transfusion. He blames Bella for making the love of his life leaving him. He is now in Forks and so is Jessica (Aro's old girlfriend)
