CHANGES COMING TO STARS: As some of you know, our server hosting company limits us to 200 emails per hour sending out which includes Chapter/Author update emails. Usually, this isn't an issue unless really popular authors post around the same time. However, Robo-Spammers have been bombarding us with fake accounts for the last few months, some using real peoples information/emails addresses. I've deleted about 4,000 of these accounts this week alone. They've been eating up all our allowable emails since each person who registers, get a "confirmation" email notice with their username/password.
Because of the way our base software is set up, we can't set up a more robust captcha system. So while it will create more work for me (Kelly), we've made the decision to remove the self-registration system completely. New readers/authors will need to email us to request creation of an account; details are on the Register a New Account tab on the main page. This will hopefully help with weeding out new spam accounts and help with the story alert issues as well.
Jenn is working on tweaking some of the skins to include a new Simplicity Dark that was requested.
Please feel free to share and thank you for being a part of the STARS Library Family!!

Update 2 (5/10/17): I will start posting chapter updates in the STARS Library FB Group for any story I get a reject notice for. https://www.facebook.com/groups/LibrarySTARS/
Update 1 (5/6/17): We've gotten them to go up to 200 per hour, but we are still getting rejects of exceeding that.
STARS Readers/Authors:, We are having issues with our email provider. For some reason, we are being limited to 100 emails per hour. It sounds like a lot, but its not esp when stories from popular authors get updated. We are working to resolve the issue and we apologize for the inconvenience.
Please contact us at Admin@starslibrary.net if you have any questions or concerns. We do not get notified if people leave comments on news postings. Thank you.

1. Info about Banners, Story Titles and Summaries: Story titles and banners can be seen by everyone including minors!!! Any words stronger than damn, to include but not limited to derogatory names for men or women, cannot be in your title.
Titles and/or summaries that include adult language or lemons, and banners that are too adult in nature, include nudity or partial nudity, or include strongly adult language WILL BE EDITED OR DELETED without notice! This means the banner or language, not the story
Anything showing breasts, butts, penis, etc cannot be in your main story banner/summary area. Reasonable bathing suits are fine (no thongs). You are MORE than welcome to put them in your chapters since you have to be logged in AND have age certification statements checked for anything T rated or above which these things would be on.
2. Stories with Sexual Content: Just a quick reminder to authors with lemons in their stories:
Underage sex is fine so long as both parties are underage, but adults having sex with underage children/minors (below the age of consent for the country/state of the story) is considered pedophilia which is against our terms of service/submission rules. Stories violating this rule will be deleted.
In general, the age of consent in most states/countries is 16. The only exception would be a Romeo/Juliet defense where they had a prior relationship while both were underage at the time before one became an adult.
3. Ratings Questions:
Authors often ask how to pick a rating for their stories. Our ratings are K, T, M, and NC17. If you compare them to movie ratings, it would look something like this:
K = G Clean. Something you would let your 5 yr old see/read
T = PG A few bad words here and there and maybe a little violence like a fist fight or an explosion. Something a 12-year-old or younger would be able to watch
M = PG13 Violence, maybe a death, making out with clothes on. Bad words without sexual connotations. Gunshots, explosions, heavier story lines that are non-sexual in nature. Something you would let your young teen see/watch (12-16-year-old crowd).
NC-17 = R or X. Excessive violence like mass or graphic murder described; Sexual content of all sorts; Excessive cursing; Think 17-year-old and above.
4. Spam and Reject Notices: Hopefully with this new site this will no longer be an issue
We've gotten reports that our email story/chapter alerts are being directed to spam on Gmail. Please add firstname.lastname@example.org to your contact lists and this will hopefull start redirecting them back into your inbox.
We've been getting alot of reject notices from email alerts and password change requests. Sadly some email providers send our emails to spam or block them entirely. Those include (but are not limited to) AOL, COX, Comcast, Hotmail and RR. It is suggested that you add email@example.com to your address book or add to your white list of acceptable email senders. If you need a password reset, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
5. SQL Error: Hopefully with this new site this will no longer be an issue
We've been having issues with the server/database. Chapters will post successfully and email alerts will go out to those who have your story favorited. However, when the server goes to return a successful posting message to you and updates the most current date, that error occurs. If you get the SQL error, check the table of contents. Do not hit refresh (f5) or resubmit the chapter, as that will post duplicates. This is usually associated with the date not changing. Let us know and we'll change it.
