Bella is being held captive as a prisoner of the Cullens with no means nor hopes of escaping to safety. When not faced with unspeakable tortures at the hands of captors, she is left in abject isolation – enough to drive a sane person to desperation. Bella uses their projection power in order to escape her bleak circumstances, if only for a few hours. She projects herself across the world one afternoon, after her captors have gone, and encounters Derek. Though they have little time together, Derek quickly becomes a bright spot away from her horrible reality. Gradually, Bella begins to hope that Derek can help her be rescued.

Through unfortunate circumstances Bella finds herself moving to Beacon Hills, California rather than Forks, Washington. She soon finds out she’s not the only one keeping a secret. But will she ever truly be able to run from her past? Or will it come back to literally bite her?
