This is the one part of the story I am questioning based on the family you have very skillfully portrayed. Even if Esme was angry, she was the wife of a Don for many years and now Edward has taken that roll. In a family like this, she would never disrespect the head of the family. She may have taken Edward to task in private but even as his mother, she would have respected his roll in the family. This is the woman who is not permitted to see her husband after all. Now Anthony, that maybe a different story since he is second in command and would not demand that level of restraint. But, Isabella is very much confusing me and I don't understand why Edward providers her a morning after pill when he already had this marriage in the works. Doesn't he want to hold her hostage in every way?
