Edward needs to get his alibi/story lined up: what did he see when he went out, other cars he may have recognized driving by him, or cars he saw in parking lots, the same with any people he saw out & about as he drove; was he listening to a radio station, perhaps he heard nationally syndicated radio host Delilah do one of her dedication songs; did any of the neighbors notice anyone, a car later on the street, in the driveway- anything that might help in his eventual defense?

Have I got that right?
Edward & his father, being hospital trained physicians, are both well aware Edward must take photos of his injuries as part of a domestic abuse case, & to support his complaint against Emily.
It could also be used to support the filing of a restraint order against Emily, which Edward would be smart to do, & again is part of educating a domestic abuse victim when they come to the Emergency Department of a hospital.
Edward & his father, as hospital physicians know this!

My husband's nephew's (I would be considered his StepAunt by the family as I am the 2nd marriage wife) wife was previously married, she & her then husband discovered after their child was born they had a common gene which led to their child being born severely brain damaged & physically handicapped.
The husband/father could not handle or accept the situation, & he left, divorcing as quickly as he could.
Thank goodness for my husband's nephew who raised her son as his own, & had two healthy children with his wife after they married.
The oldest child, an adult now, must be cared for like a toddler, but he is as healthy as his medical condition, which can be severe at times, allows & is loved.
I'm enjoying the story :-)

I think your spot on. Bella was a young woman, who was punishing Edward for not supporting her. But it backfired on her. She believed he didn't really love her, maybe she needed him to keep trying to prove he did. Then when he stopped she retreated to her mothers. When your young,insecure in yourself and emotions are running high, you do stupid, ilogical things. When you have someone you trust telling you your doing the right thing by ignoring him, make him work for it or he will walk all over you. You tend to listen. Especially when she is the only person you have left to talk too. Bella realises now with maturity the things she did wrong. She realised once she was away from the constant pressure from Kate and had time to really think things through. But by that time, it was too late.
